Personal Passions
A highlight of 2005 was the
purchase of my BT Cruiser, a
small RV that can go almost
anywhere!
In the Fall of 2004, the Mount
Madonna Choir released our 7th
CD, "Songs for the Journey". If
you would like to order a copy
of the CD, they are only $15 USD
each. Just
send me a check
and your mailing address and
I'll send one to you!

My family and friends call me a "multi-talented Renaissance Man whose knowledge of so many things is amazing!"
Although they are clearly biased, I admit that I love life and a multitude of different activities. Here's a few of my
favorites that I'll blog about from time to time.

  • The Technology Industry - from Storage to Security, Software to Services, I can not think of a more exciting
place to work. I love the Channel and believe that with a little work, any product can become "Channel Ready"

  • Music, Singing and Theatre - I began singing and acting in the eighth grade and have been doing it ever
since. I spent 2002 to 2004  with the award-winning Mount Madonna Choir and I sang  with the Pacific Voices,
a wonderful group of talented vocalists in Santa Cruz, California, from 2005 to the Spring of 2008. I'm not
currently with a group but looking to find a new vocal ensemble in 2009. I'm past my "all spiritual" repertoire
phases and hope to find a group that does more jazz and contemporary music.

  • The Mountains - be they the Sierra Nevada or the Rockies, I love backpacking to the remote wilderness
areas where you can see "billions and billions of stars".

  • Skiing - Mountains, Snow and Speed - what could be more fun! I lived in Boulder, Colorado for many years
and learned to ski at Telluride. Today, I love skiing at Kirkwood and Heavenly Valley in the Sierras.

  • Dogs - Take a look at my new "baby" on he photo page of the site. "Mike" (full name BarkAngel Michael) is
now almost two years old and 80 pounds. He is a joy and loves the beach and hiking in the Sierra as much as I
    do.

  • The (semi) RV Life - I don't think I'll ever be a full time RV person but I love the added freedom and comfort
our new little RV affords. Its like having a cabin on the lake but you can choose any lake, anywhere!

  • Languages - In 2003 I had the opportunity to spend time in Brasil immersed in Portuguese which means I can
now talk about my passions in four languages. The others are English, German and Spanish.

  • Travel - After many years of global travel I still love seeing new places and returning to old loves. Brasil is my
    current favorite.

  • Gardening & Landscape Design - I love working on our little four acres in the Santa Cruz Mountains.

  • Gourmet Cooking - If I was to choose a new career, I'd become a chef. I love to cook and I love to eat. I've
never met a food I didn't like  - even in Korea!
